A diverse group with strong ties to downtown San Antonio and Major League Baseball is pursuing a deal that would include the purchase and operation of the San Antonio Missions baseball franchise. And if it goes through, a prominent Austin-area company would be involved in running the club. The potential purchaser, San Antonio Missions Baseball Club LLC, is owned by Designated Bidders LLC. The latter group has some heavy hitters in the Alamo City, including Bruce Hill, Randy Smith, Graham Weston and Bob Cohen.
